YouTube is the channel par excellence, where a variety of enterprises upload videos that serve as a display to introduce prospects to their brand or their products and services. Today, you can’t craft content strategies without taking the power of the moving image into consideration, and YouTube offers you the best video marketing platform out there. Becoming a verified YouTube Partner can be a way to boost your company’s channel.

If you’re not yet convinced and are still wondering how to be a YouTube Partner, read on.

The stats that prove YouTube’s success

Here are some of the figures corroborating YouTube’s global success:

  • 200 billion users a month worldwide.

  • 79% of Internet users state having a YouTube account, making it the second most popular social network.

  • It works in 80 different languages that service 95% of the world’s Internet users.

  • At least 90% of US Internet users between 18 and 44 use YouTube. Plus, YouTube’s most active users are in the 11-15 demographic and is the most-used platform among millennials.

  • People watch 100 billion hours of video every day.

  • 62% of companies use YouTube as a platform to publish their content.

With this data in hand, being on this platform and getting the most of it surely interests you for your content marketing initiatives. We recommend you become a YouTube partner. What is the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) anyway? This program offers creators the ability to access more of the features and resources on the platform. First, you need to figure out if you meet the requirements to be in the YPP:

YouTube Partner Program Requirements

Before deciding you want to be a YouTube partner, you have to figure out whether you meet the requirements that all YouTube channels looking to join the program must satisfy. They are:

  • Follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and best practices for content creators.

  • Comply with the YouTube monetization policies. These policies will tell you what to do to make money with the content you upload to the platform.

  • Live in one of the countries or regions where the YouTube Partner Program is available. Spain, the United States, and Italy are among the eligible markets.

  • Have more than 4,000 valid public watch hours during the last 12 months. Your channel must hit this minimum traffic level before making the leap towards the YouTube Partner Program.

  • Have at least 1,000 subscribers

  • Link your YouTube account to an AdSense account

How to join the YouTube Partner Program

If your YouTube channel meets the requirements we just mentioned, it’s time to request you become a YouTube Partner. You should also go through the two-step verification process for your Google account for greater protection because your request could get delayed if you don’t.

It’s time to accept the Terms and Conditions for the YouTube Partner Program. How do you apply to be a YouTuber Partner? The steps are as follows:

  1. Log in using your account.

  2. In the upper right-hand corner, click on your profile picture and select YouTube Studio

  3. In the menu on the left, search for and click on Monetization.

  4. If you currently don’t satisfy the requirements, you can click on “Notify me when I’m eligible” to get an email when you reach 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 valid public viewing hours in the last year. If you’ve met these requirements, you’re ready to go. Go to the tab that says “Review Partner Program terms” and click “Start.”

  5. Accept the terms, and then you’ll see a green “Done” in that box.

Recall that you must have an AdSense account. They’ll ask you to link an AdSense account to receive payments. How can you link it up?

  1. Click Start on the “Sign Up for Google AdSense” card. If you already have an active account, check everything’s correct, and if not, follow the instructions that show up on your screen to create it.

  2. Once you’ve linked up the account, you’ll see a green “Ready” in the “Sign Up for Google AdSense” box.

With that, you’ve successfully completed the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) application process, and you have to wait for YouTube to review and approve or reject it. YouTube has a team consisting of teams and automated systems to confirm that the channel’s content satisfies all the requirements. The review process tends to take about a month but can take longer. The only thing you can do is wait and keep uploading content in the meantime.

What are the benefits of being in the YouTuber Partner Program?

Being a verified YouTube Partner can provide a series of benefits to your 360° marketing strategy if you use it well:

  • Your earnings will soar: Thanks to the reach coming from the world’s largest video community, you can go beyond borders and reach people all over the planet with your monetized videos.

  • Flexibility for your brand: YouTube does not have any rules regarding the sites where their partners decide to upload content. Therefore, with the help of a non-exclusive agreement, every partner can monetize their videos on the platform and other websites.

  • Control over your posts: The YouTube Analytics tool will give you the power to control your posts’ performance as well as track their earnings. Figure out how you can boost your performance on your channel with the results you examine with the tool.

Tips to boost your YouTube channel

Once we have the steps for becoming a YouTube Partner clear, here are some tricks to power up your company’s channel:

  • Content is king: If you’re going to upload a video, make sure it’s of quality. This factor is the most crucial. You should offer entertaining content that garners interest from your community and also reaches new audiences. And, above all, your video should exude your brand values.

  • Choose the right keywords: The videos we upload to YouTube also require advanced keyword research to position them. Support yourself with tools like Google Trends to find out the most-searched terms that best suit your needs.

  • Impact them with your title: In contrast to a blog post that has a title and text in an instant, a video doesn’t have that. This format impacts through a compelling title, and it will play in a user’s decision to play it or not. Don’t forget that a video title should not exceed 60 characters, which is the maximum number that Google allows.

  • If you have a title, also include a description: A well-titled YouTube video sans description doesn’t go very far. Make it clear and concise for users while incorporating the keywords you pulled from your research.

  • What about categories? They matter too: Choose the categories that best match your videos and add them to the end of your description. That will make them more visible to users and make them look for other videos in that category.

  • Videos can go viral: Finally, don’t forget that your videos should have a “share” option for the YouTube community to spread it on their social media channels. Enable the “Share” function on the videos you publish. There’s no magic formula to create a viral video; work on original ideas and concepts, spend precious time putting the video together, and trust that it will connect with your audience.
